At some point, after taking enough public classes and workshops, something shifts.
Your practice isn’t just a class you take anymore. It’s something you’re part of and consistently curious about. You've noticed that yoga has changed how you move, breathe, think, and relate to your life.
And eventually, the question comes: what if I go deeper?
THIS IS THAT.
Sama’s Yoga + Meditation Teacher Training isn’t just about learning how to teach.
It’s about immersing yourself.
Ten weeks, two hundred hours, and a full-on dive into the practices and teachings that have already been transforming your life.
INTERNAL + EXTERNAL PRACTICES (aka: the whole human experience)
Yes, you’ll learn how to teach a variety of things: an accessible yoga flow class, a meditation class, and a pranayama class -- as well as well as how to give a dharma talk and hold a discussion.
But you'll also learn how to sit with your mind. How to work with your breath. Where these practices come from: the history, the philosophy, and the WHY behind it all.
This includes:
alignment-based, accessible asana
meditation that trains your mind
philosophy that gets applied to your life
a sequence you’ll know like the back of your hand (and actually use)
in-depth history to honor the rich past of these practices
pranayama and teachings on the subtle body to help you move inward
REPETITION = TRANSFORMATION
We don’t throw a million sequences at you. We'll go deep with one.
Over ten weeks, you’ll practice and teach a thoughtfully designed, well-rounded, accessible sequence that includes standing poses, folds, backbends, and twists, all linked with breath, so that you can get to know each shape and its variations well.
You’ll feel the sequence change in your body. You’ll watch your confidence grow. You’ll know what you’re doing and why.
And you’ll leave with a solid, thorough understanding of a sequence you can teach anywhere (though you certainly don't have to). You'll also understand of how to sequence your own accessible, alignment-based classes. And you'll have a practice you can return to anytime.
MEDITATION (YES, YOU CAN TEACH THAT TOO)
This isn’t an asana training with a sprinkle of meditation.
You’ll receive extensive meditation training in shamata (aka Focus), the practice of calm abiding.
Translation: You’ll learn how to actually train your attention. How to manage common obstacles on a meditator's path. AND how to guide others through that same process.
COMMUNITY (THE REAL SECRET INGREDIENT)
Here’s what people don’t always expect: You come for a training and leave with a community.
You can expect:
deep conversations over shared meals
people who really get it
friendships that stick long after the 10 weeks end.
Sama has always been about practice in community, learning together, supporting each other, showing up fully. Teacher training amplifies that.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Aspiring teachers, yes.
But also:
people who want to deepen their practice
people who feel something changing and don’t want to ignore it
people who are curious, open, and willing to look inward
You don’t have to have it all figured out.
(Actually . . . better if you don’t.)
COME AS YOU ARE. LEAVE… DIFFERENT.
This training is designed as a container for:
INSIGHT. HEALING. TRANSFORMATION.
AND—IMPORTANT—ACCESS MATTERS
We’re a donation-based studio. We always have been. Which means:
Scholarships are available. Because this work should be accessible. Period.
READY?
If something in you is calling for a deepening, don’t overthink it.
Lean in.
Scholarship application deadline April 24 | Deadline to apply May 1.

(Your future students—and your future self—will be very glad you did.)
